Button Battery Hazard (CR2032)
Keep batteries away from children. If swallowed, a button battery can cause severe internal chemical burns or death within hours. Seek immediate medical attention if ingestion is suspected.
Brakes & Lithium Batteries
Bed in new brake pads in a safe area before riding. Use only compatible mineral oil from a reputable bicycle brake manufacturer—DOT fluid or non-specified oils will damage seals and can cause brake failure. For lithium batteries: use a standard 5V/2A USB charger with a quality cable; stop immediately if swelling, leaking, or overheating occurs.
Handling & Servicing
Never squeeze the brake lever before the wheel, rotor, and pad spacer are installed—pistons may over-extend and leak. Avoid high-pressure water on electronic components.

Water Resistance & Cleaning
Do not remove the battery when washing. The battery acts as a seal, protecting internal contacts from water. Removing it during washing can lead to corrosion and poor contact.
Never blast electronic components (levers, derailleurs) with high-pressure water. High pressure can compromise seals and force water inside.
After wet rides, dry off the components and clear any grit from charging ports or button gaps to prevent corrosion.
Storage & Long-Term Care
If you won't be riding for over a month, store batteries at 50%–70% charge in a cool, dry place. Never store them fully depleted for long periods.
Brake pads, rotors, and chains are consumables. Inspect them regularly and replace immediately when worn beyond limits.

- Ingestion Hazard: Keep batteries away from children. If swallowed, they can cause severe internal chemical burns or death within hours. Seek emergency medical help immediately.
- Disposal: Even used batteries remain hazardous. Dispose of them according to local regulations. Never throw them in fire or regular trash.
WARNING — Brakes & Lithium Batteries
- Brake Bedding: Bed in new brake pads in a safe, controlled area before riding hard. Learn the bite point to avoid accidental wheel lock-up.
- Heat Hazard: Rotors and calipers get extremely hot after sustained braking. Do not touch them immediately after riding.
- Contamination: Keep oil away from pads and rotors. Contaminated pads must be replaced—cleaning is usually ineffective.
- Compatible Fluid Only: Use only compatible mineral oil from a reputable bicycle brake manufacturer. DOT fluid or non-specified oils will corrode seals and can cause brake failure.
- Charging Safety: Use a standard 5V/2A USB charger with a quality cable. If a battery swells, deforms, smells unusual, or leaks, stop using it immediately, keep it away from heat and flammable materials, and do not attempt to recharge.
- Temperature Hazard: Do not expose batteries to temperatures above 60°C (140°F) or below -20°C (-4°F). Never charge a frozen or overheated battery.
- Physical Damage: Never disassemble, puncture, crush, or short-circuit the battery. If the casing is damaged, stop using immediately and dispose of it according to local regulations.
- Transport Compliance: When flying or shipping, remove the battery and comply with IATA / local lithium battery transport regulations. Never check unprotected lithium batteries in luggage.
NOTICE — Operation & Maintenance
- No Empty Lever Squeezes: Never squeeze the brake lever before the wheel, rotor, and pad spacer are installed. Pistons can over-extend, causing leaks or failure to retract.
- Altitude Changes: Dramatic elevation changes can affect hydraulic pressure. Check brake function before high-altitude rides and bleed if necessary.
- Cleaning: Avoid high-pressure washers on electronics. Use neutral detergents, not strong acids or alkalis.
- Transport: For long-distance shipping, remove the rear derailleur battery to prevent accidental power drain or mechanical damage.
- Protection: Wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves during installation and bleeding.
